For this weeks Action stations, it was wet and so we made an animation. This is about how the game was made.  actually learnt something new today because I had no clue This was how ki-o-rahi was made but know I do. I havnt really done much but I will progress it. I was working with Evie for this. Do you play ki-o-rahi do you know about it??

For  this week Sharon got her Food inquiry group to make a question about food calories or energy/ what we have been learning about. My question was: What food has the most and least calories from this I have learnt a lot, most of it is on the picture above, Called a DLO which stands for digital learning object. As you can see I have learnt about high healthy calories, I have learnt about how you use calories and who and how much calories according to age, gender and lean muscle mass. Have you learnt anything new from this poster if so let me know??

Today for Cybersmart we learnt how to whole screen screenshot and partial screenshot where you only screenshot some this is the slideshow I made to show you what we learnt and I did an all about me when I screenshot something and place it into the collage. do we have anything in common?

Do you always want to wear the same thing 5 days a week between the ages of 5-18? Well I know I don’t. Mostly because of the cost. And how it does not show your personality and the way you want to express yourself. And is helpful for less washing. Wearing uniform is like wearing  torture.

At my school jerseys for us are around $120!!! That is Crazy. School uniform at my school is as expensive as a car, And School bucket  hats are $18.50. Most people cannot afford that which means kids come to school in outfits they want to express themselves in. And they’re not allowed to wear it. Also what happens with the hats is kids lose them so often that the parents have to buy more.

Secondly because people can’t EXPRESS themselves, and show who they really are. Like me personally I love comfortable clothes, but other people like wearing dresses and high heels, but I think there should be a dress code for short tops and shoes e.c. but otherwise People should be able to express themselves. To show who they are and feel good about themselves.  What do you think you would wear if you didn’t wear school uniform ?

 Do you do the washing at your house? Because, if you don’t wear a uniform, it’s less washing for us kids or caregivers. If kids wear their own clothes they can go home and stay in them for the rest of the evening. But, when they wear school uniforms they go home, get out of their uniforms and wash them ready for the next couple days. I go to dance after school every night and I have to get out of my uniform and get into dance  clothes, then I put my dance clothes in the wash so then I get into my pj’s. That is a lot of washing, as big as a mountain like I said before that is money for the laundry supplies. 

This is why I believe  schools with uniform shouldn’t wear uniform. They should be able to wear whatever they feel comfortable in. Its less washing and less money. I think we should get rid of school uniforms right now! 

This term for tech I have been doing robotics, with Mr Davidson. Last week we made battle bots and this week we made colour sensor bots. Which means we attached a colour sensor so when we program it is looking for the black and only on the black. He had made an oval with thick about 5-6 centimetres of black tape in the shape oval. We tested it going %30 speed then we experimented with it and put it up to %60 and it still was the same. Something we tried %100 and it still wasn’t working and so now we know for next time to check what we are doing and test and change things.

Today in maths we did a sheet with  divided by, and I got 98/100 correct in 5:45 minutes.

I got 98% correct

My goal is to be able to do 100 equations in 3:00 minutes or get all correct in under 4:00

We are learning about persuasive writing. In this paragraph I have used Alliteration (which means words starting with the same letter or sound) And Exaggeration.

Next week on the 14th of February most of our class Tangaroa the year 7/8 class, are going to Spencer park for a night. We have to bike 8km to Spencer park, (with a lunch break though) I’m really nervous because I have a new bike and haven’t really been using it. We also have to cook our own dinner and then put our own tent up. I have never put a tent up before so hopefully it will be easy. My friend Evie has a tent that we are going to practice in this weekend by sleeping in the backyard as well as putting it up and putting it down. Me and Evie are having hot dogs for dinner and brownies for dessert.

Empathy: When we are leaving and biking to Spencer park I have set a goal that I’m not going to complain and get over it.

Integrity: Me and Evie are in a cooking group and sleeping in a tent together. I am not going to stay up late and keep Evie awake because the next morning we are waking up early and get ready so we can go to adrenaline forest.

Resilience:  When we are doing adrenaline forest I am not going to be a baby and tell myself that I’m not going to fall and i’m going to push myself to do more than 2 or 3 levels.

Success: I’m going to help Evie when she helps me to put the tent up.
